My Story

I grew up in a tiny town outside of Windham in the northern Catskills. My first DSLR landed in my hands at nineteen, as i was studying TV/film production in college. nature was my first subject, honing the basics shooting trees, flowers, and woodsy self portraits. I spent the first half of my twenties working as an assistant director on film sets in Nyc, and the second half in Colorado, pursuing yoga trainings, epic backpacking trips, and developing the first seeds of Sunbeam. Eventually the Catskills called me home ~ back to my hometown, and I built my home on the family sanctuary near my parents. the land I cherished the most with the person I cherished the most. We got married here and started our family with a sweet and fiery little boy. I spend most of my days on the property with our son, building a homestead, tending to chickens, still photographing plenty of flowers, and teaching yoga and meditation weekly.

I'm Becky — a forest dweller, mama, yoga teacher, and the creatrix behind Sunbeam Pictures.

I believe every person is magic and that every phase of our lives is worth cherishing. Photography is an awesome portal for actually experiencing yourself exactly where you are right now ~ not the version that's trending in the algorithms, but the you-est you, the one that makes you fall in love with yourself.

My approach is rooted in presence and feeling. What's the true soul of your business? What threads of connection are you weaving in your retreat or gathering? I'm drawn to rich, vibrant light, wild untamed places, and the unguarded moments between the posed ones ~ where people are free to just be. I bring that eye to everything I shoot, whether it's a woman alone in the woods or a hundred people gathered on a mountainside. When I'm with you I'm fully there, holding the whole experience with care, and capturing the light on authentic moments that makes it feel like it could only have been this moment, this place,
this you.
